I recently commented on the state of the IT industry in so far as the big super firms are concerned. HP and DELL and how if they want to survive they really must up the antics or face the storm that is brewing for them.
Having banished their CEO, HP have came back with a new stronger resolve to survive the storm, and have consequently outbid rivals Dell for the company 3Par. They increased the bid by nearly half a Billion dollars against Dell. Signaling that they have what it takes to go that extra mile.
With computer sales for the general consumer slumping, Dell must be very concerned they are now in third place behind the rival HP and Acer. They used to happily sit as the number one position.
